These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of legalkb.com and any related subdomains (the "Site"), operated by LegalKB ("we", "our", or "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. The Site is informational
LegalKB publishes general legal information for educational purposes. We are not a law firm. Use of the Site does not create an attorney–client relationship. The Site does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney who knows the facts of your situation. For details, see our Disclaimer.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site (or older where required by your local law). If you are using the Site on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Copy, reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from substantial portions of the Site for commercial purposes without written permission. Brief, attributed quotations are fine.
- Scrape the Site at a scale or speed that disrupts service for other readers, or attempt to bypass any rate-limiting or security measure.
- Use the Site to send unsolicited communications, harass anyone, or distribute malware.
- Reverse-engineer, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to non-public parts of the Site.

All content on the Site — text, layouts, images, code, and data compilations — is owned by LegalKB or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. The "LegalKB" name and logo are trademarks of LegalKB. Personal, non-commercial reading and printing of pages is permitted; broader use requires permission.
If you believe content on the Site infringes a copyright you own, send a DMCA-compliant notice to legal@legalkb.com. Notices that lack the required information may not be acted upon.
5. Calculators and tools
Any calculators, estimators, or tools provided on the Site are for illustration only. They use widely cited formulas, but their outputs are estimates, not appraisals. They do not account for facts only an attorney can evaluate. Do not rely on calculator output to make legal or financial decisions; verify with a qualified professional.
6. Third-party content and links
The Site links to third-party websites for context — court rule pages, statute libraries, government agencies, and similar sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Linking to a third-party site is not an endorsement.
7. Advertising
The Site is supported by advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense and its certified partners. We do not endorse any product or service appearing in an ad. 8. No warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, LegalKB disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors or harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LegalKB and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability arising out of or related to your use of the Site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusions or limitations of certain warranties or liabilities. Where that applies, the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LegalKB and its contributors from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Site, (b) your breach of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.
11. Privacy
Use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. By using the Site, you consent to the data practices described in those policies.
12. Changes to the Site or Terms
We may modify, add, or remove content and features at any time. We may also revise these Terms; the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for a reasonable period. Continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Sections 4 (Intellectual property), 8–10 (Warranties, Liability, Indemnification), 14 (Governing law), and 16 (Entire agreement) survive any termination.
14. Governing law and venue

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and LegalKB regarding the Site. If any part is found unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in full force. Failure by LegalKB to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
